The usual Friday afternoon with Sue picking Abi up from Heckmondwike and bringing her to stay with us overnight, ready to see her mum tomorrow.
On the way to H'wike Sue dropped me at Lightcliffe and picked me up on her way back.
I thought I'd have another go at the Little Pecker.
It was another grey , dull day - especially under the Coach Road Trees.
The usual candidates out and about:-
Lots of calling Nuthatch, Long Tailed Tits.
3 Song Thrush singing.
It was nice to see a few Redwing, in with Starlings and also a few Greenfinch knocking about.
A Goldcrest was calling, not seen.
A Goldfinch with a very Orange crown.
Woodpeckers:
A good scan around the area for Woodpeckers revealed one Great Spotted Woodpecker (along the track above Newton Park Road) that zoomed behind trees, out of sight.
It then started drumming 'loudly'.
A second Woodpecker was heard further up this track drumming 'lightly' - not seen alas.
A few murky pics:-
