Ringstone Reservoir - Krumlin

We had a visit to Sue's sisters this aft, at Soyland.
Sue was kind enough to go via Ringstone Reservoir so I could take a look.

First time birding here and it was very windy with a near gale coming over the reservoir wall.

No useful footpath near the reservoir so most of my time was spent scanning from the road.
You really need a scope here, but today the wind would have blown the scope over!
I did get some reward for the longish journey from Bradshaw though.

Pr. Great Created Grebe ,stayed mostly asleep, on the water.
3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls by the water's edge with a few large Gulls overhead.
Cormorant, Pied Wagtail, Moorhen.

At a good distance from the NW corner a Common Sandpiper - my first local one.

I took quite a few speculative  photographs,on full zoom, of the rocky NE shoreline so I could check them out on the laptop later - just in case.

I did get three birds in the photos!! - a Meadow Pipit and 2 Ringed Plover - the Ringed Plover (with the yellow bill just discernible) being my 1st local ones.

A Buzzard was seen as we passed through West Vale.

Apologies for the picture quality.
Try hanging the Ariel off the 6" nail, in the picture rail - worked for us in the 60's.
