The usual stroll, up the path to the south of Foreside Lane then left along the bridleway past 'The Ruin' and along to Back Lane. Through the woods and around Ogden Water, before retracing my steps.
A long natter with farmer Keith was enjoyable, in the sunshine.
Birds:-
A good outing with birds active for lots of the time.
c12 Swift seen near Ogden Lane as I passed in the car.
3 or 4 Kestrel, maybe the same bird(s) seen more than once.
A Raptor very, very high that I cannot ID but I'd plump for a Kestrel.
Linnet, c30 Goldfinch.
A call/noise from the reeds sounded like someone 'sawing a plank of wood' was probably Snipe or Woodcock? No sighting though.
2 Juv. Stonechat was a real bonus.
6 Lesser Black-backed Gull.
c100 Black Headed Gull.
( A few pics need another look at).
Great Crested Grebe - a good bird for Ogden these days.
Green Woodpecker calling.
Reed Bunting, Red Legged Partridge.
Stock Dove.
A very light coloured Long Eared Owl making me think Juvenile was the highlight of a good outing.
All 3 pics above of the same high Raptor - probably Kestrel
Common Gull ?
