Leeshaw Reservoir - Oxenhope (Whinchat)

A couple of hours birding at Oxenhope this aft, where there were many heavy showers and no wind to speak of.
Not much shoreline nearby, lots across the water.

Many noisy Canada and Greylag Geese added to the atmosphere.

A very, very wet Heron sat motionless throughout.

Photos were not easy with the distance and the rain.

Birds:

Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper.
Linnet, Meadow Pipit and Goldfinch flocks.

2 or 3 very, very distant Chats popped on and off the wall.
Whinchat by the looks of the eyestripe, but they were very wet and dischevelled.
But I was well chuffed to get any photo.

One other birds on the wires could also be a Chat, looking at the Bill.

Black Headed Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull,
2 Cormorant, Swallow.
3 Curlew - one looked to have a shorter bill (Juv? not Whimbrel looking at the lack of head markings).

2 Hares.

Earlier:

We took Emma for some new spectacles.
We have to get 5 pairs - due to her lack of memory, she does not realise she should be wearing them all the time and either looses them or lobs them in the bin!! ..
anyway

Heard at Specsavers - Honest:

Assistant: How do they feel Mrs Brown?
Mrs Brown: Very Good, I can really see a lot, lot better now.
Assistant: I haven't put the lenses in yet.

(I feel a Mrs Brown moment is just around the corner for me.)

? Possible Chat ?
