Some Calderdale Reservoirs and Ogden to Bradshaw

An awful day weather wise today with heavy showers and a gale force wind.
Bradshaw Lane was flooded in places as a huge shower engulfed us as we left for Ringstone Reservoir.

Squally and wet at Ringstone with large waves on the water.

A pr. Great Crested Grebe stayed, mostly, asleep.
A pr. (distant) Tufted Duck.

The few Gulls sheltering against the Westish side wall looked to be of the Black Headed variety.

Cormorant, 8 Mallard and a few Swift was about me lot!

We had a quick distant squint at Boothwood Reservoir where a Cormorant landed in the high waves and strong wind with ease.

A run down to the end of Scammonden Road and a distant look at the water, revealed nowt.

Ogden to home.

Ogden Water had 2 Juv. Black Headed Gull.
A Dipper in the sluice was a nice find.
A distant Great Crested Grebe was another good Ogden find.

A longer than expected trudge above back lane, looking for a gate through the new (to me) fencing  - that now runs the length of Back Lane.

My very brown camera cover (old golfing cap) decided to leave home, and blew off backwards into the very brown reedy stuff.

A very pleasant game of find the hat commenced, clumping through lots of reeds  - I did locate the little sod though- such joy.

Also:-

Kestrel.

3 Partridge flushed - probably the same Red Legged Partridge I'd seen earlier last week.
However I could not discern any 'red' from their rear view in the bins as they flushed?

6 Swallow was about it.

Struggling with local birding at present, alas.

2 Red (coloured) Deer? seen on our way to Ringstone.
