As I sat having a coffee this morning in the garden, while Sue was getting Abi's breakfast a Great Spotted Woodpecker landed in the tree opposite our house.
Also a large Gull overhead that at one point I thought was an Osprey.
Shibden Park.
With Abi and Emma this lunchtime down Shibden Park.
56 Black Headed Gull, 3 Adult with 4 large younger Swan.
7 Coot, 3 Canada Geese and always nice to see a Grey Wagtail.
Bradshaw, Holdsworth circular.
A bit of a cock-up when I reported a very distant bird as a Redstart (seen from opposite the cricket club) to the grapevine this afternoon, only to find, that, when I zoomed the photo, up in the shade of the trees at Holdsworth, that the bird was a Wheatear.
However, Wheatear seen from Bradshaw Lane is not to be sneezed at - unless you suffer from hay fever, obviously.
Others.
A few Swallow overhead with House Martin.
A lone Common Gull. Pied Wagtail.
A few Gulls overhead were probably a mix of Herring Gulls and Common Gull.
One particular noisy Gull stood out from the crowd.
It was having a go at the other Gulls.
It is probably a Herring Gull, although the plumage is very light and it has missing tail feathers.
Any chance it is a Caspian Gull??
Swallow still feeding young!
Jay and Moorhen was about it!
Gull over house this morning
Shibden Park.
Distant Wheatear
Caspian Gull (?) photos
