13:45 - 16:45
A day that threatened rain with black ominous clouds, but no rain came along.
Two shots at relocating yesterday's Black Redstart, one at the start of the outing and one nearing it's completion.
Both failed - however the viewing area has limited access so the bird could still be hereabouts.
Birds:
Bradshaw farm track:
Lots of birds flitting about.
Jackdaws, at least 8 Blackbird, 4 Wren, 4 Chaffinch, Dunnock, Song Thrush.
A Green Woodpecker called loudly before clinging to a telephone pole for half a mo.
Ogden Area:
Mistle Thrush, 40 Small Gulls, 3 Lesser Black Backed Gulls.
Lots of Gulls in the fields and airborne throughout.
A Kingfisher made a low fly past over the water.
2 Cormorant.
A Goosander had an unusual neck pattern, but it's … a Goosander alas.
On the return leg whilst scanning for the Black Red. a Stonechat, looked in fine fettle and it was kind enough to give some good views, in the gathering gloom.
Another enjoyable outing and DRY.
