Ogden to Bradshaw

15:45 - 17:45

After a busy shopping day in Harrogate( 3 Red Kite) and Skipton (2 Red Kite A59 east of Skipton) - where I managed to spend nowt!
Sue dropped me at Ogden.

A lovely late afternoon for  a birding walk, cool with sunshine.

A large Raptor was being plagued by a Corvid, seen at distance SE of Ogden Water - probably a Buzzard and a Carrion Crow (?) - any comment welcome.

A good scan along Back Lane didn't reveal much, with the conifers eerily quiet.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker (not seen) called and landed near me and it began pecking a rotten branch with gusto, by the sound of it.
After 15 minutes looking for it I gave up!
Not much seen on a half circuit of the water.
The usual Gulls here.

6 Greenfinch were a pleasing sight as I neared Ingham Lane on the way home.
Groups of Gulls were in the fields, as usual.

An unusual sight of a Sparrowhawk gliding away from me along Bradshaw Lane just above the rush hour traffic, near the Golden Fleece Pub!
