Burnsall - Grassingon , there and back

A day out at Burnsall for a walk along the river Wharf to Grassington and back today.
Cold in Bradshaw with the car frosted up, even colder in Burnsall with roads icy in places.
The sun soon did the trick lifting the temperature a bit and making for a very pleasant walk.

There were many people out walking but we manged to get a space in the Burnsall car park (£5 all day, which is pretty good for up here).

Grassington, apparently, is the setting for an 'All Creatures Great and Small' re-run of the first episode.
The filming has been going on for a few weeks.
Some of the shops were displaying new 'old' signs.

Birds:

The skies were very quiet, especially on the first leg.
Things improved on the return journey, though.

Raptor:

A mega distant and high Raptor was seen , late afternoon.
I thought at the time it was a Buzzard.
Looking at the photo afterwards, the bird has a Harrier look to it? At least in one photo!
As usual with these very distant Raptors they are gone in a breath and decent pictures are very hard to come by.

My experience with Harriers is limited to seeing Marsh Harrier on our pilgrimage to the Isle Of Wight for our annual summer holiday so I could be way of the mark here!

Other Birds:

2 Green Woodpecker.
2 Goosander.
3 Dipper (One singing) and a pair 'squabbling'.
Cormorant.
Moorhen.
2 Kestrel.
3 Fieldfare were my only Thrush sightings!!

12 White Geese (presumably domesticated).

A few Small Gulls in a flooded field.

The sign is still here, but the Ash Tree looks in bad shape

A few photos of the Large Raptor:-

Probably a better photo, had there been a Herring Gull perched here.

A Hungry cloud
