Bradshaw Ogden Circular

9:25 - 14:00

A longish birding outing on another really windy day. A bit calmer around Ogden apart from along the prom.
It stayed dry 'till I got home.
A Little Owl was hunkered down out of a howling gale, in among the stones of a broken down wall, as I went along the fields.

Great to meet and share a laugh with A.T. along Ogden circuit.

Going along the north end, I could hear Siskin calling.
There sounded to be loads of 'em very close by.
After some intense scrutiny I picked out the birds  - only  4  or so above my head!

Birds:

Bradshaw fields to Ogden Lane:

1 Little Owl going out, Pr. Little Owl on my return.
1 Meadow Pipit going out, 4 on my return.
Stock Dove.
1 Herring Gull.
A fast moving Green Torpedo over Syke Lane - Green Woodpecker.
Also here probably a Peregrine Falcon high > E.
At the time I though I'd got 2 birds - Sparrowhawks but looking at the photos gave me a better idea?
(Looks too big for a Merlin?).

Ogden Water:

4 Canada Geese.
2 pr. Goosander.
4 Common 4 Black Headed Gull at one point.
4 Siskin.
3 Long Tailed Tit - a bit scarce here this winter.
and a couple of others.
