Friday 17th Cold, strong NE blow - day of the Buzzard

A real change in  the feel of the weather today, with a cold, strong NE wind blowing down Bradshaw Lane.
Cold and overcast this morning, bright and sunny but cold this afternoon.

My early hopes of a mega -  'Spotted Eagle' - were soon dashed on the hard rocks of reality.
Perhaps I'll have to lower the bars of hope.
(or maybe buy some bars of soap?).

An earlier exercise walk than normal (wow the exciting lives we lead in Bradshaw) up Taylor Lane then a the stiff breeze along Percy Road, The Raggalds and home.

A good scan for D.Br's Ring Ouzel (both yesterday and today) failed locate it.

A Kestrel, Lesser Black-backed Gull and a few Meadow Pipits was about all.

A land rover moved into the field next to the Raggalds dry 'flood' (flushing 4 Meadow Pipit) and kyboshing any chance of seeing much here.

A few interesting moments in a long garden sky watch.

Buzzards were the bird of the day with at least 5 seen.
Some mega distant though.

One came floating  through the garden, pursued by a crow type within 5 feet of me 'ed!
A high Swallow and a Linnet about.
A Great Tit struggled with a big chunk of nesting material.
Not being able to master it - after a bit it dropped the whole lot.
A Mistle Thrush landed on a distant pylon, late evening, and began to sing.
And my usual feathery neighbours.
