Clear blue skies for most of the day with a stiff cold NE breeze.
Nothing much moving in the skies, lots of Corvids trying to imitate Raptors.
A large Raptor East(ish) was a long, long way off.
A Raptor flew over the house, which I manged to get a photo of, I though Sparrowhawk at the time - not sure now looking at the photo. The bird seems to have large wingspan and pointed wing tips not rounded??
Any comments appreciated.
A definite Sparrowhawk later came zooming through the garden at great speed.
A different route today, avoiding the higher spots, too keep out of the wind.
Via Pavement Lane, Keighley Road, Cow Hill Gate Lane to Ned Hill bottom and along the farm tracks to home.
Birds:
Usual species in the garden, plus the possible 2 Sparrowhawk sightings, nothing new to add to my list.
2 Megs distant Ducks - Mallard.
Along the walk:-
Willow Warbler, Meadow Pipit.
Swallow keeping low over the Bradshaw fields.
Pr. Canada Geese, Pr. Mistle Thrush.
Jackdaws with nesting material.
3 Large Gulls over - not sure of the sp.
Looking west from Ingham Lane top.
Large Gull
Mega distant Mallard
