Taylor Lane and Soil Hill

Cold this morning , with black clouds and a spot of rain this aft.

Good to chat with Dan. B. on his way back from Soil Hill as I went up Taylor Lane.

Loads of bird song on Soil Hill top, even with the cold wind, gave the impression of something mega about to appear.
The only birds out of the ordinary were a pr. Siskin in flight seen as I went along the west side contour path - fairly common in Ogden plantation but an unusual species for Soil Hill.

Other Birds seen:

Little Owl, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Curlew, Mallard, c6 Stock Dove, 2 Whitethroat, Willow Warbler, Linnet, Pheasant. Pied Wagtail.

A fairly lengthy stint in the garden, interspersed with coffee breaks to keep warm!

Some of the Garden Birds seen:

3 Kestrel sightings (could be the same bird).
Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Swallow.
Just a couple of large Gulls mega high.
Pheasant, House Sparrow.
Swift, Mistle Thush.

Another enjoyable day, once I'd made the effort to attack The Hill this morning.
Dowitcher sp. ordered for later in the week.

Did you know that there isn't one Canary on the Canary Islands!
and..
on the Virgin Islands..
Not one Canary either.
