Came within shouting distance of NK up there.
He mentioned a Sand Martin in the quarry.
I sauntered over to the quarry, but failed to locate the bird - a shame - that would be a tick.
I did get a tick both garden and yearly in the shape of Swift.
2 separate sightings from the garden this aft.
The only trouble was that the birds were only visible through the bins, not with the naked eye.
The garden sightings are now at 45 and the Calderdale yearly list is 86.
Taylor Lane coughed up a Kestrel and a Little Owl.
Soil Hill contour path had a few singing Willow Warbler, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Curlew, Linnet, Lapwing and a singing Whitethroat was a nice surprise.
In the garden the sky was quite busy with a good few Swallows, the 2 Swift mentioned earlier, 2 large Gulls high overhead.
A few Raptors about as well - they pass so quickly that its a toss up between choosing the bins or camera they are difficult to capture on camera, but I normally opt for the camera.
A Buzzard was a definite and a Sparrowhawk.
One photo of the Buzzard show it's Talons in strange formation. I thought it had caught something at first.
2 large birds were having a scrap as they flew south for a long time to eventually disappear. One looks like a Raptor that had caught something and the other a Corvid or maybe both Raptors?
A large flock of Woodpigeon were mega distance over the conifers. It looked like a Raptor was in among them - possibly a Peregrine Falcon.
It could just be my imagination though!
An enjoyable day.
