Another breezy day with sunny spells, coolish again, especially along the NW of Soil Hill and very blowy along Ned Hill Track.
A longer outing today and a few more birds seen:-
2 Whitethroat - one on a Taylor Lane house roof!
Little Owl.
Lesser Black-backed Gulls over.
Pr. Oystercatcher, Curlew, Lapwing.
Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Willow Warbler.
Kestrel.
Swifts about each day now.
A Pied Wagtail was on the top Taylor Lane field midden.
A second Pied Wagtail on the lower Taylor Lane midden had a more melodious in-flight call?
Good to bump into the GI Brothers along Percy Rd.
I could only locate one of them in the car, the other would be there, but he is a master of disguise and didn't fool me.
Along Taylor Lane a squealing noise belonged to a large Rabbit that was been carried along by a larger (just) cat.
I manged to rescue the cat from the Rabbit, theses local Rabbits are fierce things.
The Rabbit ran away - softy.
Along Bradshaw Lane a Lamb was looking for a 'Lambby Back' from mummy - well it can't have a Piggy Back, can it?
Interesting with the cat and the rabbit John !
ReplyDeleteUnusual experience - the rabbit would have been a goner had I not scared off the big cat (it had the rabbit by the neck).
ReplyDeleteThankfully the Rabbit seemed unharmed and the cat looked puzzled at me. So it worked out ok!
Quite a few young rabbits showing now after the Myxomatosis knocked them back last year. Like the Willow Warbler shot John.
ReplyDeleteTks Dave.
ReplyDeleteThey are in good voice on the top of Soil Hill's North Side bushes.
