A day of bright skies then very black clouds with some heavy showers and feeling noticeably cooler.
After lunch I had a drive over to Swalesmoor and enjoyed an hour or so walking along Ringby Lane to the Top and back.
Some small bushes near the Queensbury end of the track have been removed to make some parking type area and it looks like the Linnet, that used to reside here, have left.
Last time I was here, after there had been a very wet night, I managed to locate a Short Eared Owl, so I was hoping for a repeat performance.
As I was putting my walking boots on I noticed my left sock was on inside out, surely a good omen?
After the birding walk, as I was taking my boots off, I noticed that both socks had been on the wrong way round - that's why I didn't get the S.E. Owl obviously.
The usual mass Corvid population were present with perhaps 12 Large Gulls.
All Lesser Black-backed Gulls as far as I could tell.
Other birds of note:
2 Whitethroat, One Lapwing, Kestrel, 2 Swift and not a lot else.
