Soil Hill Cuckoo

8:30 - 10:15 ish

A morning visit up to and around Soil Hill trying to avoid the worst of the heat.
Quite hot again even at this hour.

An enjoyable outing with a first for me in Calderdale if my memory serves me right, a Cuckoo in flight over Soil Hill.

Some other birds:-

Kestrel, Little Owl, Pied Wagtail, Mistle Thrush, Skylark, Swallow.
At least 5 Whitethroat.
Meadow Pipit, Linnet, Goldfinch.
A few Lesser Black-backed Gulls examining the new (early?) mown fields below Ned Hill Track.

Stock Dove, Curlew, Willow Warbler.

A Song Thrush was singing from a boulder at the end of Ned Hill Track.

Record Shot - Cuckoo!!  (Honest).
