Thursday 18th – Seaside.

The boredom has finally overtaken us and with the prospect of an awful day, weatherwise, at home we hatched a new plan.

Our motorhome has sat unused in it's compound since last November and it is crying out for a run out to see if everything still works ok after its winter lock down.

Motorhomes are complicated beasts and after nearly 8 months having passed by, and with the grey matter being another year older, remembering stuff gets more difficult – but Sue's grey matter is less grey than mine so between us we did ok.

We did find a couple of niggles that we will need to get sorted so it was worth the effort.

Having the motorhome is quite fortunate really, we have our own loo an we (the royal we) can cook our own grub.

No electric hook-up, today, but we can run most thing off the gas or the leisure battery so we managed very well – bacon butties for breakfast and Spag Boll for tea.

There and back in the day is a bit easier with the longer days but the pea-souper, we met on our arrival home, was a bit of a pain.

The beaches were very quite so  a walkabout was a welcome change and I did get an hour or so of dry weather early on when I did get a small amount of time birding.

No shops of course but we did joining a 'queue' of 2 people to get an ice cream.

Birds:

Great to see c30 Fulmar on the cliffs.

Usual Herring Gull.

Lesser Black-backed Gull.

While I was birding Sue was relaxing on the rocks and of course a Rock Pipit landed behind her!

  2. Thanks Dave.
I cannot remember seeing so many 30+ Fulmar previously.
Probably have though, without realising it, on Filey holidays.
Great to have a change of scenery.
