Woodland Birding in the Rain

9:30 - 11:30

My first crack at woodland birding since the lockdown 400 years ago.
An outing to Ogden, hoping that the rain would keep the crowds at bay.
Only a few cars in the car park when I arrived , a few more when I left but not 'busy'.
A very wet morning with nothing much on the water - a lone Mallard duckling looked bereft of parents and only another 3 or so Mallard.

In the woods it was wet going, with any decent photo eluding me completely today.
I did get a tick in the shape of a Blackcap.
Lots of birdsong on offer today.

A newly fledged Great Spotted Woodpecker was being fed by a parent.
A newly Fledged Coal Tit was being fed by a parent.

Good to have a chat with Chris S. who is holding the fort and coping with all the recent sunny weather visitors here.

Birds:

Great Spotted Woodpecker, Coal Tit, Nuthatch, Blackcap.
Jay, Willow Warbler, Chaffinch, Chiffchaff, Wren, Starling.
Song Thrush,, Pheasant,Curlew and a few other sp.
