Denholme Velvets to Back Lane and back

After DJS's Whinchat success earlier today, I thought I'd see if I could locate one.
I parked at Denholme Velvets and, after a walk along Thornton Rd,  to check the north side of Soil Hill from a different vantage point, I took the bridleway south of Foreside Lane and walked to Back Lane and back.
I also had another scan of the Plantation Area for Crossbills, from a different view point.

Very dull today with the odd light bit of drizzle.
A really slow start but things did improve a bit later.

Birds:-

Oystercatcher.
Pied Wagtail.
Only 2 Lapwing - 1 heard and 1 seen.
3 Snipe chipping.
3 Reed Bunting - very flighty.
Meadow Pipit.

Skylark.
2 Adult and 2 Juv. Kestrel - the Juvs calling constantly.
Goldfinch.
A Partridge sp.
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Black Headed Gull.
5 Stock Dove.
Woodpigeon Galore.

Good numbers of Swallow, made a change.

2 Curlew.

Top of the shop - 2 Stonechat.

Partridge.
