Beadnell Bay - Northumberland - a short break

After waiting for 6 months for new kitchen units, made but stuck in a warehouse,  delayed by Covid19, furloughed craftsmen and lockdown etc, the world's starter motor finally kicked into life this week.
The units were ready, everyone was ready, the joiner, the electrician, the plumber but our kitchen was full of kitchen stuff.
It is amazing how much kitchen stuff you collect, it's 17 years since our last kitchen upheaval, all to be found s new temporary home for  a week.
A bit awkward, this weekend,  without sink / water / cooker / washing machine in the kitchen but how most these of these things work is beyond my understanding anyway.

.
After moving all the gear about, we finally ventured out in the motorhome this week and had a short break at Beadnell Bay Northumberland.

We were on a cracking caravan site very Covid19 aware with no toilets or showers available.
Hand sanitisers dotted about the place and large spacious pitches between vans made for a very safe environment.

A bit of a busman's holiday for Sue doing the cooking where normally we would eat out a good bit.

The beach / rocky shoreline is just across the road and has loads of birding potential.

Little Terns:

The rare Little Tern breeds here but I did not see any and the Terns I did see were very distant.
Sue was fairly sure she saw some Little Terns along the beach while I was birding along the rocks!

The high tides, when I would have expected to see them, were mid to late morning when we were always elsewhere.

Everyone here seems to have at least 2 dogs one couple had 6 dogs.

The weather was windy mostly and mainly dry.

A trip to Bamburg castle was interrupted by a visit to a large roadside pond where there were many birds in residence.
A bit of excitement here, A weasel was in residence in a wall next to the pond.
A Dunlin was very close to the Weasel's hidi-hole and looked very vulnerable.
As much as I shouted and waved my hands the Dunlin just kept on rapidly feeding ignoring me and I was 5 foot away, on the road.
Weasel took a fancy to 2 Moorhens but they ran at the Weasel and it returned to it's hole - brave, tough cookies these Moorhen.

There were a few good birds about.

A short visit to Amble, on the way home, always a treat.
