Hag Lane Area

After a very busy morning at home, I had a short outing along the Hag Lane Area this aft.

Warm and sunny, quiet bird wise.

A beautiful coloured Butterfly was sunbathing on a large wallstone, a Wren appeared higher up on the wall, hopped along the wall, saw the Butterfly - no more Butterfly. A bit sad really.

Birds heard - not seen:

Buzzard, Whitethroat, Chiffchaff, Song Thrush.

Others:

Chiffchaff or Willow Warbler - probably a Chiffchaff going by the leg colour?? Or not!!
Linnet.
Meadow Pipit.
Wren.
Swallow.

"Oh well" it's July or Fleetwood Mac if you're old enough to remember them.

Blackbirds have finally fledged in our Beech hedge.
One young Fledgling was on the lawn this morning, looking very vulnerable. I took a photo of it, through of the lounge window.
A bit later in took to the air for a short distance to go over the wall and into a hedge, so all looks well.

C10 Swallows and 30 or so Large Gulls, high,  soaring and circulating, east of Oats Royd, seen from the garden this evening.
