South Foreside Lane and Soil Hill

A lot of running around today but I manged to do some birding in the afternoon.
A warm and sunny day, probably keeping birds on the deck!

Birds:-
Garden:

Just a Buzzard seen from the garden early doors, high over Oats Royd.

South of Foreside Lane to the Old Abattoir Ruin:

Mid Afternoon - tough going.

Kestrel, Meadow Pipit.
A very smart looking Wheatear.
Goldfinch.
Nothing much in the sky.

Soil Hill:
Late Afternoon - tough going here as well!

Moorhen, Mallard.
2 Diving Ducks on the NK pond were probably Tufted Ducks..
Pr. of Partridge flushed from near the Comms. Mast.
Pheasant.
A few Meadow Pipit and a few Gulls on the distant Shay Fields was about all.

  2. Good to still be getting some Wheatear John. Nice shots. Think we've probably seen the last of Whinchat for this year.

  3. Yes I havent seen Whinchat for a while now.
This track is parallel to Foreside Lane it goes towards where Les Kellet lived.
The lady farmer seen today, mentioned that the ruin, towards Back Lane, Ogden was an Abattoir yonks ago.
I used to cross to it from Foreside Lane but the crossing path is a real bog now ... but good for Snipe.
