Luddendenfoot to Hebden Bridge and back.
A longish walk this morning, in decent weather (bart bins and camera) with a stop at a cake shop in Hebden Bridge for a coffee and cake, eaten in the park before retracing out steps,
Birds of Note.
Long TailedTit, Buzzard, Dipper, 2 Nuthach.
Great Spotted Woodpecker and Heron.
Soil Hill to home.
Late afternoon I had a look around Soil Hill hoping for Ring Ouzel or Lapland Bunting - the latter probably would be found in the quarry scrapes rather than in the longer grass on the public footpath area.
I gave the North Side tree line a real good going over but birds were really hard to find.
Just 3 Wren present!
A few Meadow Pipits knocking about.
A few Gulls were distant in the lower shay fields.
2 Mallard, 2 Moorhen on NK pond.
On the way home, a life saver of a Black Redstart on the building at Cloth Hall Farm.
This bird looked to have lighter plumage than the one seen earlier here?
(Although with the poor light, the exposure compensation setting will have influenced some of the photos).
Looks like a younger bird to me?
(The blog header Black Redstart photo is of the one seen 20/09/20)
Quite a few Gulls airborne at the bottom of Taylor Lane.
A late evening garden watch produced a very large Gull > SW overhead.
Storms in the south forecast for tomorrow might just benefit us?
Nice one to re-find John (if it's the same bird) - well done. DJB will be proud of you !!!!
