Redcar Tarn and Raggalds Flood

We enjoyed a run out to Redcar Tarn Keighley this afternoon.
A better day with bright intervals and a few showers.
As usual there were plenty of birds on the water here.
I did not eyeball anything 'special' though the highlight was definitely the number of Goosanders present with a count of 30 plus.
Hard to count exactly as they were constantly diving and moving behind the small island, but definitely a record number for me.

There was an even larger number of Goosanders earlier - see the link on the right of this blog to Dannysbirds.

Also about was a small Polecat type.

Birds:-

30+ Goosander.
Tufted Duck.
Mallard.
Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Herring Gull.
Black Headed Gull.
Common Gull.
Canada Geese.
Coot.
Pied Wagtail.
Cormorant.

and a few others.

Raggalds Flood:

25 Small Gulls on a good bit of water here.
7 Lapwing.
Walking home from the flood Little Owls were calling from either side of Bradshaw Lane.

A short garden watch brought with it a few Mistle Thrush overhead.
