Bingley St. Ives Walk and Local Birding Stroll

Bingley St. Ives.

Quite a long walk around the perimeter of St. Ives this morning.
A clear, quite warm morning, ideal for a walk.
We stopped at the café near the Clubhouse for an Ice Cream.
Best Ice Cream I've had in a long time it was too.

A few birds included :-
Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Mistle Thrush, Sparrowhawk.

Birds seen on a quick circuit of the coppice pond were:

Mallard, Mute Swan, Tufted Duck, Moorhen, Coot.
Black Headed Gull.

Local Fields:

A short birding stroll around the local fields this afternoon had a few bits:

Green Woodpecker and Little Owl being the best of the bunch.

A garden watch this morning , looking out for B.S's grapevine Pinkies, failed to see any - they probably passed south of me.
However at the same time 5 Canada Geese got me twitching a bit as they came over. A Raven passed calling loudly overhead was a nice reward though.

I had a short garden watch late pm where  I was sky gazing, I then put the bins down to find a Sparrowhawk sat on our hedge not 10 feet from me nose end!
I lifted the camera but it did not say cheese - miserable sod!
