Our stint with Abi during her school holidays ended this aft. and so did most of the rain, coincidentally.
Well it was almost dry as I headed up Ringby Lane mid-afternoon.
It's a bit of a smelly bog hole up here, but I was fortunate arriving at a gate hole at the same time as the big muck spreader met me along the narrow track.
Nothing exceptional really, but after playing cards, drawing and
reading about Mary Hen this week, it was an enjoyable DRY outing.
45 minutes 'hang around' outside home this morning, sky gazing, hoping for the arrival of 'zillions' of Pinkies from Todmorden - but they didn't arrive - Boo Hoo!
Birds:-
Zillions of Corvids and mostly small Gulls with a few Big Uns about.
3 Sparrowhawk sightings, all very high and distant, spotted by Corvids before me were probably 2 birds rather that 3.
I manged poor photos of 2 of them.
A Raven, heard not seen, was unusual in that the other Corvids normally find it for me!
3 Meadow Pipit.
2 Linnet were a nice find.
c11 House Sparrow at the bottom of the track.
I was hoping for an Owl sp. given all the previous rain, but it was probably not quite dark enough.
Raptor 1:
Pleased to get a couple of Linnets up there John. No the 'pinks' never arrived here either. I think they must have gone well to the south of us.
