14 calling Geese , over the house this morning, had me drop the duster and the Pledge and dash outside to see 14 Canadas.....boo-hoo.
Serves us right for cleaning the house on the day of rest.
We called at Ringstone Reservoir mid-afternoon (on the way a Peregrine Falcon was seen).
We were hoping for some migrating Geese or Swans but not to be.
Always good to chat to PD who was scoping from the reservoir wall.
Birds:-
Black Headed Gull, Common Gull, Herring Gull.
2 Stock Dove, Moorhen, 1 Teal.
A Little Grebe appeared and immediately disappeared - amazing.
Mallard, Grey Wagtail.
a few Lapwing overhead.
Soil Hill:
Deadsville here with dogs and dog walkers about and they didn't even flush owt!
A motorised vehicle is churning up the paths big style - I'm thinking that the resulting mud pools etc should be seen as a plus birdwise?
Only a few Meadow Pipit and Carrion Crows about on the top with distant Gulls in the shay fields and a few Large Gulls overhead.
