Shelf Woods and Local Fields

A very short but quite strenuous stroll through Shelf woods, from the park, this afternoon.

Some steep descents then the 'staircase' then a left and along some small lanes before a steep descent and a steep ascent to the car park.

Very few birds on offer which was a surprise, just the usual Corvids and a few Thrushes.

A Herring Gull passed overhead.

A stroll up the local fields, later on, had a few birds about.

2 Little Owl.

1 Kestrel.

4 Mistle Thrush.

1 Fieldfare.

  1. We know what you mean about the 'staircase' John.!! A couple of years or so we had some Tree Sparrows reported on feeders by the side of a farm down there somewhere. Not far from the lower side of the park, across a field. Worth watching out for if you go down there again.
