Soil Hill am and Local Fields pm

Soil Hill 9:00am - 10am (ish).

Sue was making Marmalade this morning, a Christmas present for a friend - lucky friend the Marmalade is yummy.

Quite bright outside so I took the opportunity to drive up to Soil Hill.

I put some birdseed down ready for the arrival of some winter specials - nothing special here this morning though!

Thick fog here , with visibility of about 30yds made the outing a near waste of time.

Just a Meadow Pipit called from the top (not seen) a few Carrion Crow and 8 Redwing spotted by DJB as I chatted with him on Taylor Lane on my way home.

A trip to Halifax and The Range Car Park bushes and small trees are full of berries and seeds - bodes well for later on.

Local Fields 15:15 - 16:00

A late afternoon stroll along the local fields - its getting dark soon now before 4pm.

A very cold wind was strengthening during the outing.

Birds:-

Little Owl.

3 Wren.

6 Fieldfare.

Kestrel.

Groups of Gulls in 10'sand 12's > W throughout.

Large Jackdaw flock near Matthews Farm.

A Green Woodpecker flew past in the gathering gloom.
