Bradshaw - Ned Hill Lane - Percy Rd - Taylor Lane

The sun came out this morning and then was mugged by the mist rising up the valley from Halifax.

It did return, off and on, throughout the afternoon.

I had an enjoyable outing near home, along the snow covered fields and lanes.

A solitary Fieldfare, 4 Meadow Pipits and a Stonechat were in the fields as I approached East Croft  Farm.

A fox was an unusual sighting seen near farm buildings.

The rest of the outing was fairly quiet with the ground frozen mostly.

A solitary Lapwing was seen along Taylor Lane and another was by itself, in fields, further north - unusual to see them on their own in winter.

The Taylor Lane Little Owl was playing hide and seek but I did find it's hiding place eventually.

An extra special Tawny Owl was located via Abi's colouring box.

I've posted a photo of it especially for someone who has asked me to post a photo of one on my blog!

Elsewhere - loads of berries on bushes in The Range car park and a Kestrel on a post along Thornton Road (where the fields remain frozen).

With Very Best Wishes for 2021 - Keep safe and thanks again for tuning in.

John.
