I took advantage of the good weather this afternoon and had quite a long exercise outing (12:30 - 16:00).
I walked from home across the fields to Ogden , up to the giants tooth, and back home via the grunt (Ned Hill Lane), Percy Rd and Taylor Lane.
The top car park at Ogden was cordoned off, presumably due to the ice, leaving the bottom car park with insufficient room to accommodate the cars arriving.
Ogden Water has become a very popular outing destination, during the Lockdown(s), so one small car park will not satisfy the demand.
Giant tooth failed to produce the "Irate William" I was hoping for but some compensation was a calling Red Grouse, that took some finding in the camera, obscured by the setting sun.
It was nice this morning to get a Garden tick with 2 Long Tailed Tits in a conifer. Also seen from the garden was a Kestrel, and many Gulls passing through.
Ogden etc Birds:
Red Grouse, Goldcrest, Meadow Pipit.
Treecreeper, Nuthatch, 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker, both heard neither seen.
Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Chaffinch, Goldfinch.
Mistle Thrush, Kestrel, Long Tailed Tit.
Usual Gull sp. with 5 Canada Geese and Mallards.
and.. a quite few others.
Like the Giant's Tooth photo John.
