Bradshaw - Holdsworth circular

The freeze continued today with frequent snow showers and an icy  nne wind.

I had a couple of hours walk down to the Holdsworth area and back.

The 'going' bit of the walk was poor with the accompaniment of a heavy snow shower that stayed with me all the way to Holdsworth.

The return leg was much improved with even a ray of sunshine at one point.

4 Blackbirds feeding on our garden meal worms were chasing one another about.

One bird looking a good deal smaller than the others.

I normally only see 2 Blackbirds in the garden.

Birds:

Similar to recent winter outings down here... not a lot.

2 Greenfinch, Chaffinch, 2 Canada Geese.

2 Mallard and a few other common species.

Prize of the day goes to a Buzzard being mobbed by Crows in the Oats Royd conifers.

When nearby Crows spotted the Buzzard they began to call and other Crows came from quite a distance to join in the melee.

I 'd have never seen the Buzzard without the help of the calling Crows.

Looking North along the Calderdale Way.
Soil Hill top left on the horizon.
