A couple of hours walk late afternoon today from Ogden back to Bradshaw. The outing was spoilt by constant snow showers throughout, blown along on this icy easterly wind.
A circuit of the water had Wrens, Robins and Blackbirds and not much else! A Great Spotted Woodpecker was in the conifers opposite the visitors centre.
The water held very good numbers of small Gulls with at least 2 Herring Gulls and a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Most of the Gulls were in a large group in the centre of the water.
2 Canadas honked as they flew overhead.
The walk home via Syke Lane and the farm fields etc. was uneventful.
