Coley / Priestly Green

Fed up with trudging through the snow up here, I had a run down the road, this morning, to have an exercise walk down the track next to Coley Church and the Priestly Green track to the A58.

Another very cold day with a stronger breeze, especially this afternoon.

No snow here but the ground was still frozen solid.

A good selection of birds today.

Tits, included a couple of Long Tailed Tits.

Finches - Chaffinch, Goldfinch

1 Redwing, 4 Mistle Thrush  and Blackbirds.

4 Wren, 4 Nuthatch.

Usual Crows species included 2 very noisy Jay.

No Woodpeckers seen or heard which was unusual for my visit here.

Top of the pops were 2 Little Owl that were sat sunbathing together on a tree branch, brought a smile.

An enjoyable outing and change of scenery.

Looks like the very cold weather is to break on Sunday afternoon.

An interesting call, that I've caught on video, I should  recognize. I'll have a stab at Great Tit.
