A cold, raw, unforgiving easterly wind this afternoon made the Ogden Water circuit a very cold experience.
The path is compacted snow and ice making for a very slippery trudge.
The water is partially frozen in several places where Gulls now stand.
Unusual to see the Gulls legs.
Great to chat with farmer Geoff along Ogden Lane.
I struck up the conversation with that well known saying "A good day for muck spreading?".
The reply "Would be if my muck spreader wasn't completely frozen up!"
Home was via the farm track and fields.
A nasty forecast for tomorrow morning with freezing rain.
Birds:-
As usual during this very cold snap, birds were hard to come by up here.
Back Lane was bereft of birds.
There were the usual birds on the feeders and there were few birds
seen as I was going around the circuit.
Top of the shop was a Kingfisher in the sluice area.
The usual Small Gulls on the water / Ice with a couple of larger -Herring Gulls.
Not much seen on the homeward walk.
