Local Birding Walk

Same route, this afternoon, as yesterday, on a dull, cool, calm day.

Great to chat with Geoff H. along Percy Rd, we were putting the world to rights.

Birds:-

Nothing unusual seen but an enjoyable outing.

2 Buzzards were high over Oats Royd, seen whilst we were gardening this morning.

Farm Track to Ned Hill Top.

c20 Woodpigeon, usual Jackdaws, a couple Chaffinch.

2 Meadow Pipit, Curlew calling.

Green Woodpecker calling from Ogden area.

Soil Hill - Taylor Lane:

Moorhen, 2 Stock Dove, Lapwing.

7 Curlew, c400 Starlings, Wren.

Big - Lesser Blackbacked Gull.

Herring Gull.

Common Gull. Mistle Thrush.

4 Meadow Pipit.

1 Large 'lark' type 'slowly' dropped into the field by Ned Hill Track - Skylark I'm thinking but the photo's not good!

The Taylor Lane Little Owl was on the deck and ran over the hill out of sight.

Bradshaw Lane:

2 Stock Doves.

2 Little Owl, both calling.

One Little Owl was calling loudly within 20yds - NOT seen!

Very Poor 'Skylark' picture
