A short, very cold, birding outing from the car park at Denholme Velvets to the Abattoir ruin nr. Ogden Back Lane and a walk along Thornton Rd to look at the north slope of Soil Hill this afternoon.
The weather for the next 10 days looks very, very cold indeed - the few Swallows that have been seen going north, might be seen again returning south.
Probably slow the migration - for a while?
Birds:
Usual birds seen.
6 Curlew.
c20 Lapwing.
3 Oystercatcher.
A few Large Gulls overhead.
c50 Gulls in the air, distant, towards Oxenhope (TMR) reservoir.
Snipe calling from 3 locations (not seen).
Weasel (maybe 2).
