Bradshaw - Soil HIll

A walk up to Soil Hill, late morning, where it was very cold on the north side hill with the odd hail shower for company.

May, tomorrow, and no end to this very cold stuff.

Birds:-

1 Swallow, a Little Owl and 2 Red Legged Partridge seen on the way to the Hill.

The north side was buzzing with bird song, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Willow Warbler and Whitethroat all competing.

3 Whitethroat were good to see.

Also in the lower north side tree line another (unknown to me, Warbler - not a Gropper though) called once and refused to call again or show itself - sounded a bit like a 'churring' Whitethroat but somehow wasn't!

If the weather had not been so flipping cold I'd have hung around a lot longer than I did.

Other birds:-

c10 Swallow - distant, over the NK pond looked to be picking up insect from the top of the water.

Pied Wagtail, 6 Linnet.

Good numbers of Skylark and Meadow Pipit.

3 Willow Warbler, 3 Pheasant, 2 Large Gulls over SW.

Pr, Mallard, 4 Canada Geese, 4 Lapwing.

4 Curlew.

Greenfinch calling from Percy Lane.

A Juv. Magpie being fed by an adult,  was nearly the same size as it's parent.

Swallows over the NK Pond
(Probably better off watching this video, on a bus - might even out the shake!).
