Brookfoot L N R & Bradshaw Evening.

After quite a spell of being frozen on the hill , I had a trip down to the Bahamas this morning!

A good bit milder with some breeze and dry.

3 hours or so birding walk was accompanied by bird song throughout, a pleasant change.

From the fishing ponds car park area I walked along with the river on my left, a short detour to look at the ski lake, before continuing on to the weir  by the twin bridges.

I headed back along the canal.

A "mass" of black flies by the wooden viewing platform bodes well for the arriving migrants.

C40 Swallow / Martin flock were flying a lot higher than I expected above the lake.

It was difficult to count and identify the birds, as they  zoomed through, occasionally.

Probably Swallow, House Martin and Sand Martin in the group.

A high pitched reeling from the reed beds also.
