Bradshaw to Ogden

A pleasant morning to be out and about.

Local:-

A Whitethroat was calling near Wards View house.

It was pleasing to see a Wheatear quite near home, as I went across the farm fields.

The Little Owls are conspicuous by their absence - nesting?

A few Linnet and the usual species.

The small copse, along the track, east of Ned Hill bottom looks good for Flycatchers to me.

2 Swallow.

Ogden:-

Not much on the water - a Cormorant on the float was about all.

I decided to clog on up to Giants Tooth, hoping for Flycatcher,  ran out of time and had to clog back down again pretty sharpish.

On the way up A large bird flew awkwardly out of sight - looked Wryneck-like (I should be so lucky).

At the same point, on my way back 2 Mistle Thrush called and flew overhead - so I'm guessing the original bird was a large Juv. Mistle Thrush.

Garden:

A Sparrowhawk, 3 Large Gulls a few Swallow and one Swift were seen from the garden this afternoon.

(On Wednesday, as we passed in the car, a House Martin was eyeing up a potential nest site at a terraced house just east of Tesco's Shelf - House Martin seem a rare bird these days).

Wednesday Evening:

On my, now regular, short evening  stroll up the fields yesterday:-

2 Red Legged Partridge.

Yesterday Evening:

Today:

(2 very poor distant photos - the bird is singing in the 1st photo)
Probably a Meadow Pipit but the bird was flying out then landing back on the posts.
Not the same post, mind you.
Not a Flycatcher anyway.
