Ogden today - Saltaire earlier in the week

Ogden Water:

A wet outing around Ogden Water this afternoon hoping something might be brought in by the poor weather.

7 degrees today!

Birds:-

5 Willow Warbler. Moorhen. 1 Canada Goose.

Mallard - nearly all drakes.

1 Chiffchaff.

Great Spotted Woodpecker called from the north end.

Blackcap had a short burst of song, again from the north end.

1 Lesser Black-backed Gull on the float.

Saltaire - River and Canal:

We have had a couple of visits to Saltaire this week.

It is a beautiful place to have a walk. We went through Hirst Wood and along the river to the park and back via the canal.

There is a small licensed cafĂ©, open 7 days a week (weather dependent)  where we get a coffee and a bun.

At the moment the inside area is out of bounds but we have been lucky with the weather and been able to scoff outside.

Bradford Grammar School kids were rowing some long narrow boats up and down the river.

I doubt I'd be able to get into one of them boats, never mind row the things.

One one walk, while looking at the House Sparrows along the canal, a Sparrowhawk arrived and nabbed one of the House Sparrows.

It's a bit upsetting to see, but I guess that's nature - no different from my chicken dinner, although I don't see the chicken in a field beforehand.
