Soil Hill a.m / p.m.

A walk up to and around Soil Hill was a short lived affair when, soon after my arrival,  I got the "BD to Z Victor One" call to return to base.

I took the car up there this aft. to have another look see,

It was a bit livelier than of late with Curlew, Lapwing, Whitethroat, Skylarks making some noise.

A long outing though did not bag me a rare Warbler.

A Dunnock singing its short burst of notes did not sit well with me but try as I might I could not locate the singer. I cannot think of another bird with a similar song so... it probably was a Dunnock.

(2 Dunnocks were seen along the north slope tree line).

Birds:-

A few Meadow Pipit and a few Willow Warbler.

6 Linnet, 3 /4 Curlew, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a few other Gulls overhead.

Lapwing.

4 Whitethroat in good voice.

2 Dunnock, a few Singing Skylark.

Mallard, 1 Tufted Duck and 1 Canada Goose seen on the NK pond.

2 Pheasant (one quite tame).

2 distant Reed Buntings calling not seen.

Kestrel.

Tough going up here of late!

"Poached" Egg
Quite a size.. Maybe Pheasant
