Filey

We enjoyed a day out at Filey on Thursday with Abi and her dad.

Quite busy here but lots of space on the beach really.

A cool, dull start gave way to a lovely late afternoon.

By the time we got home it was way past our bedtime, after 11pm!

While the other three were on the beach I sloped off for a short time.

Birds:-

The clamber along the rocky pavement to the brig was unusually busy and the tide was way out here with the holiday makers keeping birds at 'bay'.

I did get to see some nice sp. though.

Cormorant, Ringed Plover.

Guillemot, Razorbill.

Small flocks of Auks over the sea at distance.

Herring Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull.

A few small groups of large Gulls out to sea.

Kittiwake, Fulmar.

Flocks of Gannets back and fourth.

A large lively, long legged, marching, Pipit that I cannot ID, looked too lively and large for a Meadow Pipit, not dark enough for a Rock Pipit and I doubted that it would be a Tree Pipit on the cliff top - but..

(On past performance it will be a Meadow Pipit!).

Kestrel, Canada Geese.

A large very white looking Gull is also a puzzle - probably a Herring Gull, loads about.

And a few other sp.
