Soil Hill on a very hot afternoon

A hot outing up to and around Soil Hill this afternoon not expecting much in this weather - which proved to be correct - but if you don't look you'll never know.

Some really pretty moorland flowers and plants here and the grass is head high in places.

Nearly all the surrounding fields were being mown here today

Birds:-

3 Whitethroat (all heard).

2 Linnet.

Meadow Pipit (I don't recall seeing a Skylark).

3 Black Headed Gull (inc 1 Juv).

1 Herring Gull. Stock Dove.

Lesser Black-backed Gull.

Pheasant.

A few birds on the distant NK pond , a Moorhen the rest were probably all Mallard.

and a few other sp.

A Buzzard was seen from the garden this evening.
