It was a dark, dull, wet afternoon when we had a run out Oxenhope Co-op to get an ice cream and then on to Leeshaw Reservoir to do some birding - we know how to live on the wild side.
On the way home we stopped at the old Whittakers Joinery works so I could look at the 'hundreds' of Gulls in the ploughed field opposite.
The weather was unkind as I stood on the pavement next to the M1 taking photos.
I've realised afterwards that instead of taking lots of shots quickly I should have taken fewer shots with a bit more care.
But with the rain pelting down and the cars racing past I was keen to get back to the car.
I have had a look through the photos, and I did not find a mega.
Best I could come up with was a Black Headed Gull with a leg ring.
The majority of the Gulls were Black Headed with one Common Gull seen and a Juv. Large Herring Gull?
Leeshaw Birds:-
Nuisance drizzle here.
A few Canada Geese.
Cormorant.
Black Headed Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Herring Gull.
I thought I'd got a Yellow Legged Gull, but looking at the photo I think its a Herring Gull.
Mallard, Meadow Pipit, Goldfinch, 2 Moorhen.
1 Curlew high on the moors, south of the farm buildings.
40 plus Lapwing with a large flock of Jackdaw.
Grey Wagtail.
