I met up with HC from Queensbury this afternoon to look for Little Owl and we enjoyed a long. humid walk around the Bradshaw area.
Unfortunately the birding gods did not smile on us - well only now and again.
There are 3 or 4 places were I can expect to see Little Owl, my banker being the fields near East Croft Farm, however on this occasion my banker failed to come up with the goods.
Fortunately we did eyeball a Little Owl along Bradshaw Lane.
Other birds were hard to find.
A Green Woodpecker that called loudly from beyond Matthew's farm, remained unseen.
A second Woodpecker called as we were on Percy Rd (could have been the same bird).
9 (6 + 3) Mistle Thrush, 2 Kestrel, Woodpigeon and Jackdaws and a few Gulls overhead was about all.
Sky watching from the garden this evening, a dark gloomy evening too.
The usual Swallow, Gulls and Woodpigeon seen.
Canada Geese flew past, same lot I had seen earlier as I was playing football with Abi in the park - included 2 Odd Ball Geese.
One White and one with a lot of white on the wing.
also c30 Goldfinch were on thistles in a field beyond the bottom of the park.
