Local Circuit

I just managed a late birding walk late evening today.

A dull affair, both weather and bird wise.

I went along the fields to Ned Hill, Up Ned Hill and along Percy Rd then down Taylor Lane, home.

A long scan for the Little Owl in it's usual area, failed to find it but it flushed from a wall a bit further along the path.

Just c20 Woodpigeon, the usual Jackdaw crew and a few Wren were hereabouts.

A Kestrel and 2 Mallard flew past while I was chatting to Jack the goat man at the bottom of Ned Hill Lane. Also seen from here were several Gulls in the fields and a few Gulls overhead, mostly Lesser Black-backed but a couple of Herring Gulls were seen.

At top of Ned Hill and a distant bird on a line, with its back to me, was probably a Linnet.

It was extremely gloomy as I arrived at Soil Hill and I only ventured up the track for a few yards before leaving for home.

2 Goldfinch flushed from the main track bushes was about all and nothing of note was seen on the way home.
