Bradshaw Fields - Ned Hill Road - Soil Hill (main track to quarry only).

A slight deviation to my usual outing today going along the local fields to Ned Hill Lane, along Percy Rd and down Taylor Lane.

Just a short peep at Soil Hill, keeping to the main track to the quarry and back.

Very pleasant walking weather today, sunshine and a nice breeze.

Good to speak to Janice nr. Bradshaw Hall.

A small bird on a wire nr. Matthews farm could possibly be a Whinchat, the photo at that distance makes it also possibly not a Whinchat.

A small bird gate crashing one of the photos is probably a Swallow bit late for Swift but it looks a bit Swifty?

Birds;-

Little Owl (flushed and flew out of camera range).

4 Meadow Pipit.

3 Potential Kestrel Sightings - one  probably a Peregrine.

2 Stock Dove.

Possible Sparrowhawk, high.

2 Wren.

Plenty of Gulls seen in a distant field way off north from Soil Hill.

3 Partridge species flushed from the track of the large ruined building at the top of Ned Hill Road were probably Red Legged Partridge ( smallish though with no call heard?).

2 Common Gull, 2 Starling.

3 Mistle Thrush.

Nr. East Croft Farm a Raven called once, not seen and a second Raven called somewhere near Oats Royd as I was sky gazing in the garden at tea time, again not seen.

Also from the garden,  distant, and in a big hurry were 12 birds that I though were interesting.

The photo reveals 11 birds with their wings closed and a 12th bird with its wins open.

There is probably11 Starling and a Pigeon Sp. - but I can't work out whether the 'larger' bird would be the same size as the others with a closed wing profile!

Also above Oats Royd - 2 Buzzard mobbed by Crows.

Also a Gull being mobbed by a solitary Crow - the Crows normally ignore Gulls?

Photo missed off the original post:-

Fast moving birds above

Whinchat or probably NOT!
