Another cracking October day with some very warm sunshine.
I had 2 1/2 hour birding walk around my local-ish area.
(No sign of any Little Owl today).
I went along the fields , up Ned Hill, along Percy and down Taylor Lane with 2 short diversions. 1 along Ned Hill Track, 1 Along Soul Hill main track.
Earlier, the grapevine was buzzing with "local" Pinkie sightings.
I spent quite a while in the garden sky scanning, and of the 4 local sightings I managed to pick out exactly zero.
(It was then I realised that I had the "thick" end of my bins to my eyes).
(Just a few Gulls in the sky with a possible Buzzard salvaged from one of the photos).
Birds:-
1 Kestrel.
4 Stonechat (very mobile along Ned Hill Track) ... Possibly more than 4.
2 Snipe flushed.
Both called and left, flying fairy low, but not landing.
1 just beyond the mast on soil hill track. The second near the corner "puddle" . Both were snapped immediately but somehow manage to miss the lens (mostly).
A family of Pheasant were in the Taylor Lane midden.
A few Meadow Pipits was about all.
